hello!

i'm saanvi, and i'm studying computer science and neurobiology at caltech. i am excited about frontier ai and its positive applications in neuroscience and biology. recently, i've been curious about ai alignment¹ and interpretability, models that can reason, and bcis and the safe melding of minds and machines.

i've been fortunate to work in exciting research labs. in high school i spent two summers at the pattwell lab in the ben towne center for childhood cancer at seattle children's. at caltech i've worked jointly with the perona lab and pachter lab, and i did a summer research fellowship on clinical neurotech with stanford radiology. i'm advised by markus meister.

in my sadly-little free time, i love listening to music², singing and songwriting³, and playing tennis⁴. i also enjoy being a peer advocate at caltech.

i like doing impactful work on interesting problems that challenge me. retaining my childlike curiosity, putting my soul into things, and being a good human especially matter to me. i love being surrounded by creativity.

1. huggingface-gate took me down many rabbit holes. big fan of interp and redteaming.
2. current faves: ariana grande (the most soulful voice of our generation), adela, joji, doja cat, tame impala. i love a well-produced pop song with vocal stacks!
3. my post-agi plan is to be a singer. i am trying to teach myself carnatic singing.
4. i enjoy rallying more than playing full games. friendly matches are my jam.
